About

Pz and Newlyn Youth Project was set up following discussions with parents, business owners, councillors and local Police after it became increasingly clear that the young people of Penzance and Newlyn needed a warm, dry, safe space to be in the evenings immediately. The youth club is designed to be an open-door facility which will provide meaningful, enriching activities for young people who may be at risk of exploitation if out on the streets or poor mental health if isolated in their homes.

We are grateful to be currently funded by Penzance Town Council, Cornwall Community Foundation and The National Lottery Community Fund. We also are supported by The St Aubyn Foundation and Penzance Councillors Community Chest fund.

We are fortunate to be able to provide creative activities with funded artists through Creative Kernow and The Leach Pottery.

Action for Children partner us on Friday Evenings in Penzance .

Since launching at the end of December 2022 we have been privileged to support high  numbers of young people and welcome all 11-19 year olds to attend for free.

Each session is staffed by skilled, experienced youth workers with safeguarding procedures in place

We currently operate 2 evenings per week with open door youth clubs and offer trips during the holidays and some weekends .
